But engineering teams are doing much more than just running terminal commands. They’re performing code reviews, evaluating specs, and constantly testing code to ensure it all fits together.
I mentioned boards…these are the basic framework of the Trello app. Each project or thing that I am working on have their own designated board. Within the boards, I’ve added lists and within each list cards, which function as notes.
Getting Started
Trello users can opt-in to watch your board so that they are immediately notified of changes and updates. When the item is ready to go through the review process, we move it to “Ready Work.” In this case, the word ready means ready for various types of review processes to take place. In this case, our “Waiting on 3rd Party” step might include dependencies on designers, print services, or other functional groups we need to loop in before a content asset can be published. “Ideas” is our dedicated brainstorming column where abstract ideas are housed before they are defined further in a future stage of the process. A great way to ensure that we work on the right cards at the right time is to assign deadlines to each card as it moves from Near Future (nebulous) to To Do (specific).
Company visible (Enterprise only) – anyone within your company can view templates from the Workspace Boards page (denoted with a “template” badge) and via the share link in the template header. While everyone can create free public templates, Premium and Enterprise workspaces can create private and Workspace visible templates that are not visible publicly to the entire internet. If you’re logged-in to Trello, you can also browse templates by creating a new board and selecting “Start with a Template,” or by navigating to the Templates section of the Trello home screen. Reach the template gallery by going to trello.com/templates in your web browser. You can share Trello boards by clicking on the Share button on the top left of your board. This will let you invite people to work with you on the board.
